Will I feel any pain?
Will I be unconscious?
No, you will be in a deeply relaxed state, able to follow commands, but have little to no memory of the procedures performed.
Will I be monitored?
Yes, one of our team is always with you and your vital signs are monitored during the entire visit. You are never alone.
How long will I be relaxing?
Depending on your needs, from two to six hours.
Will someone need to accompany me?

Prior to your sedation appointment, Dr. Stangebye and his staff will thoroughly review your individual treatment needs and medical history and he will recommend just the right sedation for you. Most patients will take their sedation medications about an hour prior to arriving to their dental appointment. Your companion will accompany and drive you to and from our office. By the time you arrive you will be very drowsy.
When you arrive in our office, you will be escorted into the special sedation room, complete with a Tempur-Pedic chair and covered with a thick, warm blanket. The entire time you are sedated your vital signs are continuously monitored, including your blood pressure, heart rate and blood oxygen saturation level. You are never left alone. One of our highly qualified staff members is with you at all times. After you are completely relaxed, the experienced clinical team at Advance dental will take care of your dental needs.
When your treatment is completed your companion will return you home to finish your comfortable, relaxing day.
It Really Works! You really can relax through your dental appointment.
It Is Safe! You take your oral sedation medication prior to treatment, no intravenous tubes or needles.
You will have little or no memory of the experience. You won't remember any sounds or smells.
You can relax for up to five to six hours after taking the medication. The time you are relaxing will vary depending on your needed treatment.
Complex dental treatments, that often require six to eight appointments, can be done in as little as one! All while you completely relaxed.
Sedation dentistry is a safe way to reduce the fatigue of extended dental treatment requiring long visits.
